Those In Christ

ree

Focus: 1 John 2:5-6 - KJV

5. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

1 Peter 2:21-23

Since the Lord has identified to us the one to hear and obey, those who comply are said to be God lovers. It is however paramount that we understand how we are seen to be obedient unto Him who we are meant to hear. There is no obeying Him without walking in the path He laid down. For instance, when the whole space was hot for Him, being reviled by the mere mortals that He formed, He did not revile anyone. So, if we, because of being reviled, become vengeful, we cannot claim to be in Him.

The sons of Zebedee went with Christ into Samaria and they got no room there as they were rejected. The minds of James and John, from their knowledge of the kind of power Jesus carried, was to call down fire like Elijah on those who rejected them. But Christ would not have such and He rebuked them sharply, saying, they knew not what spirit was in them. It becomes an absurdity therefore, in this age to claim to be in Him and not walk in that light. Recently, someone was rejoicing kind of, over the peril brought upon residents of Los Angeles because he was rejected there. He later came to say how the Lord rebuked him sharply for that kind of heart. A servant is not greater than the Master.

The Lord wants us to show our being in Him by walking in His direct footsteps. He was a servant leader who stooped to the level of washing the feet of His disciples. He is asking us to equally be humble in service and not so high minded as to treat them that He died for with disdain for any reason, no matter what we assume they had done to us. We are yet to be in Christ if we are still recompensing evil for evil. At best, we are of Moses or Elijah, when we are like that. He is asking that we work it all out by walking in His steps.

Please pray:

Thank you, father for the footprints you left in the sands of life for us to follow. Please take us away from hypocrisy and help us to be true about being in you at all times. Do not allow the enemy or our flesh to ever misdirect us from the path of life which you have laid for and shown us, in Jesus’ name. Lead us through to the end, dear Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Please share with others. God bless you.
