Focus: Acts 11:24 - KJV
24. For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

When the work of ministry appeared daunting to the Apostles and they needed support to ease the burden of the entire work on themselves, they sought amongst the multitude of the disciples seven men with certain qualifications, to appoint into the office of deacons to assist with a part of the tasks at hand. Such qualifications simply are: being of honest report; and being full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom. Whenever we find people of such report, their activities in the body of Christ help to increase the population of believers and never take away from it. Being of a honest report is another way of saying a person is a good man and faith can be used interchangeably with wisdom. These qualities were found in Barnabas who, when he preached unto the people of Antioch, much people were added to the Lord thereby.
It is these qualities that are missing in the present-day Christian that makes it seem the whole faith is a scheme, which is not true. If the Christian is not found in immorality, he is named amongst scammers; if he is not bribing to get above others, he is found supporting heinous things that should not be mentioned amongst the people of the faith; if he is not supporting killings and those other things the Lord commands against, he is the one trying to change the order of God as laid down by the Lord Jesus Christ. How can such be said to be a good man and how can his activities draw man to the Lord. Of course, if he has no good report, his fruit already shows that he lacks the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of wisdom. He is indeed working against the faith and therefore, cannot be referred to as a man of faith.
Beloved, the reason you are reading this today is because God is looking for a man of honest report who is filled with the Holy Ghost and faith, to help deliver His message unto the world. Are you keen on being the Lord’s messenger at this time? The Lord needs you to help fulfil this purpose and draw more men unto Himself. If you are willing, then you need to purge yourself of all evil performance that brings about evil report, and invite the Holy Ghost into your being that forthwith, through faith He may propel you into doing only those things that would attract people unto your God and serve Him. Your good report emanates from bearing the fruit of love which is a product of having the Holy Ghost as your guide.
SOLUTION: Let us put an end to all evil works and embrace the fruit of the Spirit so that we may become the true ambassadors of Christ as God has purposed. It is then that people may accept our attributes as such worthy of emulation just like Paul said: “follow me even as I follow Christ”.
Please pray: Father, I want to be useful in the drawing of people unto you. Let my works and my report be propelled by your Spirit that I may be a worthy Ambassador of your Kingdom, going forward, in Jesus’ name. Never allow me or my attitude to dissuade anyone from following you, in Jesus’ name.
