Focus: Matthew 14:17 - KJV
17. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
Matthew 14:3-21
It is high time we all realize that there is nothing we have that is not given to us by the Lord. And all that is given to us is for us to utilize to affect the lives of others positively, for the Lord. Unfortunately, when we get hold of anything, we assume it is just ours to the exclusion of all others. Such notion and attitude take us away from the place of abundance and it makes us miss the opportunity of multiplying that which was given to us. Whatsoever we give to the Lord, comes back multiplied unto us; conversely, whatever we withhold from God, ends up fizzling out in our hands, without us being able to do anything about it. Even if we have nothing in our hands to offer, for as long as we offer our abilities, calling or expertise unto the Lord for His use as a platform to reach others, suddenly He causes our resources to come and it is stretched beyond our ordinary abilities.
When Jesus wanted a crowd of followers to be fed, the disciples had nothing to offer the crowd but found a lad with only five loaves and two fishes. When the same was offered to Christ, as if to lunch upon, Christ turned it to lunch for over five thousand people with twelve baskets left over. When the meagre meal touched His hands, it multiplied and there was surplus. Peter had toiled all night and had nothing at all to show for it. The Lord asked for his boat as a preaching platform; in the end, he had a net breaking catch that dumbfounded him. His emptiness was filled up to overflowing. Obed’edom had allowed his home as the platform for God to house His Ark of Covenant; after three months of opening his door to the Ark, his life was transformed to the extent that those who had looked down on him started to envy him. He was originally considered worthless and hopeless; but when he released his home to God, his life witnessed a transformation.
Beloved, whatever we have and withhold from God was never ours and can be blown away. To forestall its being blown away, let us put it to the proper use for which God gave it to us – to impact the lives of others. We can impact the lives of others directly or through credible organizations set up for the particular purpose. Aside this, whatever we are, we are made to be by God for the purpose of impacting life. Hence, our entire being is formed to be God’s platform, like Peter’s boat, Obed’edom’s house or the lad’s lunch, for ministering to others’ needs. If we say because we paid fees to study in becoming medical personnel and therefore, we refuse to treat the indigent until he pays, we are withdrawing our platform from God. Same for the mechanic, the lawyer, the evangelist, the teacher and whatever calling. Whomsoever we are able to assist, we are called to use our “platform” to so assist, for God’s purpose and He will make us thrive the more.
SOLUTION: Never say no to a demand from God. It is indeed a set up for your abundance. Always be ready to say yes even if it appears most inconvenient. God owes no one. He will surely replenish.
Please pray: Lord, I thank you for all I am and all I have for I received them from you. Please accept my thanks for it all, in Jesus’ name. Please give me the heart never to refuse you the use of any of the platforms you have created in or through me, ever again, in Jesus’ name. Please do not let me ever again lack anything good, that I may present all for your use, at every point in time in my life, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
