1. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
Psalm 62:1-7
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but it is the Lord that delivers him from them all. The tendency is for a person to run up and down to people for refuge or salvation in times of trouble. Particularly, when the devil raises a gang-up against him amongst his friends such that no one believes him again despite his righteousness. When he runs to men, they are likely to turn him down due to the seeds of evil that had been sown in them by the detractors. But they that do wait on the Lord shall be strong and do exploits. And, because the Lord knows and understands the details, He alone knows how to settle us pleasantly by saving us from the entire situation.
David was Saul’s armor bearer and cabinet minister. He attained the exalted office by delivering the head of Goliath, the king’s greatest tormentor, to him. He did all he did in righteousness. He was also the king’s minstrel whose therapy eased off the king’s mental illness. All in all, he could only be adjudged righteous in the king’s matter. But when the king rose against him without cause, he first thought he could find refuge through the heir apparent but that one almost lost his life also instead, for intervening. Then David became a fugitive and cave dweller with great travails, becoming friendly with the king of an enemy nation. It was only God that brought him salvation from all his troubles, at last.
It is time to turn to God in our troubles and stop relying on the arm of flesh. Even if a man has the best intentions to help, like Jonathan, he may become constrained. When God steps in, He shields us from the onslaught of the enemy no matter how fierce or ferocious it may be. If we look aside to other men, we may just be telling the Lord how less important we consider Him in our affairs. But when we surrender all into His care, He knows how to rescue and secure us till He eventually makes the enemy our footstool. Wait on Him for your salvation. It is on the way.
Please pray:
Father, I thank you for keeping me under your shadow and not letting the enemy get me. Please continue to keep me on your everlasting arms away from the reach of my assailants, in Jesus’ name. Blindfold them that seek my hurt that they may never see me to bring harm to. And in all they do, let me like the eagle soar even as I ride on the storm which they brew, in Jesus’ name. On this very day, please make my enemies my footstool to the glory of your name; let me attain that throne that you have prepared for me so that it may be true of me that you prepared a table for me in the presence of my enemies, in Jesus’ name.
Please share with others. God bless you.
