Waiting In Obedience And Unity

Focus: Acts 1:13 KJV: "And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James."
The believers’ journey requires obedience, waiting, and unity. Immediately following Jesus's ascension, the remaining eleven apostles retreated to a secure upper room in Jerusalem. Instead of scattering in fear or rushing to preach prematurely, they stayed put, submissively waiting to be empowered by the promised Holy Spirit. The Church of today needs all of these criteria the more to overwhelm darkness truly.
Thomas was crippled by pessimism, famously declaring he would not believe in the resurrection unless he physically touched Jesus's wounds. He had separated himself from the other disciples. However, a transformed Thomas was no longer isolated, cynical, or doubting. He was actively packed into the upper room, completely unified in prayer alongside the other apostles, expectantly waiting for the next move of God. The unity of the brethren and their waiting patiently in obedience to the Lord’s voice brought about the Pentecostal experience that the earth still remembers till today.
Thomas’ life and actions prove that our past doubts do not disqualify us from God's future movements. When we encounter the reality of Christ, our isolation ends. By staying "planted in the room" of fellowship and waiting patiently on God's promises, we prepare our heart to be launched into a legacy of powerful purpose. Let us therefore put away all cynicism and past doubts, reunite with the brethren in obedience and see the salvation of the Lord.
Prayer:
Thank you, father for not allowing me to perish in my doubts. Let my new found hope in you keep me absolutely in faith to the end. Prove to the world through me that you do not discard your wounded soldiers but heal their wounds to strengthen them anew for battle. Make me your ferocious battle axe in this end time, to the glory of your name, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please share. God bless you.
