Walking With God

Focus: Genesis 6:9 - KJV

9. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

Ezekiel 14:14-20

Although the sacrifice of Christ for mankind was ordained from the foundation of the earth, prior to its manifestation on earth, every man was first judged by conscience and then, after Moses, based on the law. In the places where the law was unknown, still by conscience. In every generation from Adam till the advent of Christ, God found a few righteous, not because they were without fault but because in their generations, they were above board when compared with others. For instance, Noah was found to be righteous in his generation and therefore, he was able to walk with God at his level of the knowledge of God and relating with Him. Daniel at his time was the same, ditto Job. Each of these men had occasion to find God and they stayed with Him, obeying His directives unto them. Noah refused to live the riotous life the people of his time lived; Job lived in absolute benevolence and obedience to God not to oppress anyone, while Daniel decided to be pure for God by avoiding defilement, every bit of the way, even as he gave priority to God in all things pertaining to life. Incidentally, as these attributes availed these actors in righteousness, it is not a thing that can be passed down. Meaning, the righteousness of the father does not avail the offspring. By their righteous works, they were able to walk with God.

The Lord is looking for trailblazers in every generation that will be His showpiece in righteousness. Like He found Noah, Daniel and Job in their respective generations, He seeks in this generation, people He can attest for, concerning righteousness. All the things this trio did are found in Christ today. Hence, righteousness at this time is premised on a corporate bundle in Christ. The trio at their respective times, did not have the benefit of what the current generations have. Christ has everything that makes up for righteousness summed in Him. This presupposes that, in this dispensation, for us to walk with God, like Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Job, Daniel and others, all we need do is look up to Jesus and do those things which He has approved for us to do and nothing else. Incidentally, no one walks with God without reaping great benefits: Enoch has his name written in gold in that he did not experience death; Noah survived a worldwide pogrom; Daniel became inedible to predators and saw the future; Job stood firm in the face of trials and had restoration in double fold in the end. If we also will be righteous in our generation, then are we able to show forth the real gains of righteousness in clear terms.

Dear Lord, we want to walk with you in righteousness that we may be pleasing to you. Please help us to hold ourselves in perfect walk with you by the help of your Spirit, in Jesus’ name. Kindly help us in our walk with you that we do not stumble in any way. Let your precepts and directions be clear to us in every bit of our walk with you. And as we go along, even while still on earth, let the benefit of walking with you be glaring in our lives. At the very end, give us the grace to reign with you in eternity, in Jesus’ name.

SOLUTION: Please seek to be righteous in all deeds and conversation, to be pleasing to God, that He may find you worthy to walk with. When we walk with God, we hear from Him, we know His ways and we speak with Him effectively such that we know what to ask and our asking are never impaired. It is righteous living that brings us to that position.

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
