Focus: Acts 17:24-25 - KJV
24. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; 25. Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;
1 Chronicles 29:14-16
Our God is an awesome being who owns all things for all things were created by Him and for Him. If all things belong to Him, it follows that what we think we have we receive of Him. And because He does not die or go into extinction, all that we are and have, we eventually leave to Him when we expire on this side of eternity. At times, we put resources together with a view to building an edifice for God and we call it the house of God. Really? What size of house can any man put up to contain the one who dwells in eternity, who sit on His throne in heaven and makes the earth His footstool? Will the house be big enough to be an abode for just His feet? What offering do we give to God that is enough to fill Him? Why then do we make so much a big deal about things that do not belong to us which we take from God, when it comes to putting the same to use in the form of a test of love, for the same God?
Whatever we think we are doing for God is only done to fulfil our pleasure wanting to show off that we have outdone someone or another. We know in ourselves whether we are doing our best in the circumstance, or not. The Lord sees the things that are genuinely given in love. A widow put two mites into an offering bag which was all she had. God acknowledged it as it was given in love. David was a king and had access to so much provision. He purposed to build a house for God and God rejected it. To show and satisfy himself that it was not that he could not do what he purposed, he put resources together for his son to use in achieving it. If God was so keen on living in a house built with hands, why would He reject David’s offer? Why do we therefore think so much of ourselves to want to make us presume we are doing God a favor whenever we are presented with an opportunity to give unto the work of evangelism?
Beloved, it is time to put our hearts unto wisdom. Let us, with humility, concede to God all things, as they belong to Him. When we do this, He finds love in us, that is if we are genuine, and He becomes keen to hear and grant our requests. Hey! All that we can ever need or ever needed, belong to Him and they are in His power to give us. He formed the earth on the principle of reciprocity and therefore, when we give, He ensures that good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over is given back unto us, by others. It is unfortunate that we hold dear things that we think we own, not knowing that on earth, we own nothing. When the hurricane washes houses away, what are the supposed owners able to do? Let us please get wise.
SOLUTION: Open your hands to release things for God’s purpose and your heart unto the love of God. When we do this, God reciprocates our gesture of love by pouring His resources, which are without measure, on us.
Please pray: Father, because I lack, I pray that you please grant me wisdom to understand my position vis a vis yours, in this life, in the name of Jesus. Please favor me with your resources and help me to reciprocate your love always, in Jesus’ name.
If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
