Who Is The Fool?

Focus: Psalms 14:1 - KJV

1. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Proverbs 15:5

A fool is said to be someone who acts unwisely or imprudently, a silly fellow. Simply put, he is someone who is ignorant concerning a subject or an issue upon which he operates. Our God is the all-knowing one and He is said to be Omniscient. In that behalf, no other being is more knowledgeable than He is. When He, who is all-knowing says something and any other being counters that which He says, there is no gainsaying that the said other cannot be right in the context. Hence, it will be correct to call that other a fool in the circumstance. It becomes trickier in that God is a Spirit who is not seen even though all existence show that He is. When a person moves against the instruction of God, it is possible to hide behind the cloak of not seeing the Lord, for doing so. That however, does not take away from the fact that the person remains a fool in the matter.

The foolishness of Achan was revealed when even though the Lord said nothing be taken out of Jericho when conquered, he decided to take and hide particular items. His action was tantamount to querying the existence of God. It is like saying “who is the Lord to tell me what I can take and what I cannot?” in the end, he was exposed and Israel killed and burnt his remains. There are many other examples of those who challenged the authority of God thereby saying who is the Lord? The list is endless: Adam and Eve, their son Cain, Pharaoh in the time of Moses and so on. It is crass foolishness to hear the Lord’s instruction and go against it. Many even have a way of wanting to justify their foolishness. Saul made a sacrifice against the instruction of God and stood on an inexcusable excuse. What can be more foolish than to assume one can fool the Lord?

Today, the Lord wants us to know that when it comes to His express words or instruction, we have no idea to offer other than to do as He has said. Trying to rationalize tithing and giving of offering, divorce, homosexuality, wickedness in any form and so on, is a way of saying there is no God. When Mary told the servers at the marriage in Cana of Galilee to do whatsoever Christ told them to do, she knew they had brains to want to think out and rationalize instructions before letting them know their opinions or wisdom is not required in the matter. When they did what He said, they got a miracle. The Lord is asking us to come out of our foolishness and do as the Lord has commanded that we may arrest the erosion of our miracles.

SOLUTION: Never use your small brain to rationalize the instruction of God away from what the Holy Spirit dictates. Do whatever the Lord has said – precept upon precept and line upon line, then shall the miracles begin to show forth.

Please pray:

·      Give thanks to God for making you to know Him and to appreciate His instructions from time to time

·      Pray for the forgiveness of your times of foolishness when you called the word/instruction of God to question

·      Ask God to please keep you as the sheep of His pasture, never to become too high to be controlled of God

·      Pray God to draw many more into His fold that will be sheep and not goats so that foolishness may be minimized in the body of Christ

·      Ask for your daily bread for the day

If you are blessed by this post, kindly share with your contacts, as well as others, that they may be blessed also. Thank you and may God bless you abundantly as you do so, in Jesus’ name.
