Yield to God, Always

Focus: Psalms 27:8 - KJV

8. When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.

Genesis 17:1-3

It is easy to slide away from the instruction of God without knowing. There are many who believe they are still with God without knowing they had long strayed away. Of course, because things appear normal, they are not aware that they are living only on old or expired grace more or less. It is only until a devastation happens that they will realize they had always been on their own for a while. Abram was a man who received instruction to leave his kindred and proceed to a land that God would show him. When God gives instruction, because He knows the ending from the beginning, He is deliberate in what He states. Abram left everyone but took his nephew, Lot whom he loved and cared for. God had seen that Lot was not worth the kind of care Abram was doling on him as he was a heartless and self-centered, ungrateful deserter. Until Abram separated with Lot, the planned blessing for Abram was not forth-coming.

To get the best of God, we must be ready to obey His instruction to the letter. When Joshua followed instruction, he witnessed the downing of the wall of Jericho without a physical dozer. The basis of David’s success was his love for God and complying with His direct dictates. When Saul refused to follow His instructions, in no time he had himself to blame. The refusal to countenance God in our dealings is an exposure to danger. Jonah was to go to Nineveh! Of course, the instruction was clear to him. Rather than heed the instruction, he headed elsewhere. He got into storms and endangered the lives of innocent people travelling in his boat. This is the case of many today who refuse to heed the voice of God. In the end, he found himself in the belly of a fish. It was only then that he came to his senses. Why wait until we are tight up before countenancing God? Many things would have been affected by then. God loves those who are obedient to His voice.

SOLUTION: To enjoy life on this side of eternity, be careful to yield to the voice of God always. No matter the situation or our perception about the situation, what God says should be held sacrosanct and heeded. There lies our success.

This new day, the Lord will give you the life mending instruction to get you to the place of fulfilment of destiny in Jesus’ name. May the Lord by His mercy cause you to be obedient to His voice always and silence the voice of the deceiver in your life in Jesus’ name. Start enjoying the goodness of God.
